centers emphasize academic and thematic strengths
within the curriculum. The centers support
faculty research, sponsor interdisciplinary
sequences of courses, extracurricular activities
and conferences, and offer a wide-range of
opportunities for continuing education.
Finance
The Fink Center for Finance & Investments
sponsors research, teaching and the application
of financial knowledge in the global corporate
and investment communities. The Fink Center takes a
leadership role in recruiting and retaining
outstanding faculty and scholars. The center
also supports promising students in their
efforts to gain a deeper understanding of
the issues and challenges in the field of
finance.
International Business
The Center for International
Business Education and Research (CIBER)
enriches the international content of UCLA
Anderson’s curriculum, provides funding
to faculty and students involved in international
business projects and conducts outreach
programs to the international business community
of Los Angeles.
Entertainment and Media
The Entertainment
and Media Management Institute (EMMI)
sponsors research, industry events and courses
to bring together industry representatives,
students and researchers to develop new
ways for entertainment and media companies
to manage and thrive in the face of transforming
entertainment and media business models.
Entrepreneurship
The Harold
and Pauline Price Center for Entrepreneurial
Studies (Price Center) provides a wide
range of academic and extracurricular experiences
designed to prepare students for the challenge
of management in entrepreneurial environments.
The Price Center also organizes conferences
and disseminates information on the latest
research in entrepreneurship.
Economic Forecasting
The UCLA
Anderson Forecast is one of the most
widely watched and often-cited economic
outlooks for California and the nation.
The Anderson Forecast strongly supports
management education through formal teaching
and public lectures on economic, corporate
and public policy issues.
Real Estate
The Richard
S. Ziman Center for Real Estate (Ziman Center)
is a worldwide leader in real estate teaching
and research. The Ziman Center draws upon
resources from throughout UCLA to provide
Anderson faculty and students, as well as
members of the real estate industry, with
expert faculty, research programs, rigorous
and relevant courses, and numerous industry
outreach events.

Research Centers and Laboratories
NUS Business School’s specialized
academic centers emphasize academic and

entrepreneurship. The centers also support
faculty research, sponsor interdisciplinary
sequences of courses, extracurricular activities
and conferences, and offer a wide-range
of opportunities for continuing education.
They complement and are supplemented by
the vast array of specialized centers and
institutes at the University-level.
Center for E-Business
The Center for e-Business was established
in February 2000 to conduct upstream modeling
research as well as to develop suitable
e-Business solutions. With IT contributing
to Singapore’s positioning as an international
business hub and also businesses in the
new millennium increasingly being transacted
electronically, the Center for e-Business
focuses on research and development in e-business
innovations and services. The center enjoys
significant industry affiliation and sponsorship,
is characterized by strong international
collaboration and exchange with a distinct
emphasis on global e-Business research in
the Asia Pacific region.
Corporate Governance and Financial Reporting Center
The Corporate Governance and Financial Reporting
Center was officially established in January
2003 by NUS Business School and is hosted
by the Department of Finance and Accounting.
Its mission is to research, disseminate
and promote best practices in corporate
governance and financial reporting. The
main objectives of the center are to: conduct
high-quality academic research in the areas
of corporate governance and financial reporting;
undertake applied projects in corporate
governance and financial reporting that
are relevant to practice and policy-making,
either independently or in collaboration
with industry and governmental organizations;
disseminate the results and practical implications
of academic and applied research to practitioners
and policy-makers; organize industry conferences
and seminars in corporate governance and
financial reporting, either independently
or in collaboration with relevant organizations;
and produce case studies that illustrate
relevant corporate governance and financial
reporting issues.
Saw Center for Financial Studies
The Saw Center for Financial Studies was
officially launched in June 2004. The center
is named after Professor Saw Swee Hock,
a distinguished NUS alumnus whose generous
endowed gift has enabled the center to pursue
its goals of conducting leading-edge financial
research, educational activities and training
programs related to the financial services
industry, including alternative investments,
corporate finance, equity and bond markets,
fund management, risk and wealth management.
In order to support efforts to establish
Singapore as a financial hub, the center’s
primary focus is on Singapore’s financial
sector but is extending its scope to cover
Asia Pacific countries. The center is committed
to bridging the gap between academia and
industry through hosting visiting academics
and conducting various educational programs
for students, faculty members and professionals.
